TRIBUNJ, a village and port on a small peninsula, 2 km west of Vodice, 1333 inhabitants. It is an agricultural, fishing and tourist area. The authentical atmosphere of an ancient Dalmatian village, the cleannes of the sea – according to the numerous analyses maybe the clearest of the Adriatic, the richness of the sea flora and fauna make the Tribunj sea suitable for swimming and undersea safari. The possibility of sports and recreation: tennis, bowling, five-a-side soccer, sailing and diving school. This village's particularity is the biggest fishing fleet in the central Dalmatia; when the fishermen return from the sea, the Tribunj's riva becomes a show of fresh fish and crabs, which creates a special atmosphere. Traditional festivities – The Tribunj's Night and The Fishermen's Night are organized in the high seson. The Feast of the Assumption (18 August) and St. Nicholas Day (6 December) are specially celebrated.

History
The village, originally on the island, was founded in the 16 century by the runaways from the surrounding villages on land. Some minor wall ruins built during the Venetian rule are preserved. The ancient Jurjevgrad - the medieval fortress and the St. Nicholas church from 1452. East of the village also a small medieval church. Living and working in Tribunj was all about fishing. Today, there are only few ships left from what was once a big fleet while Tribunj presently benefits from the tourism and its summer guests.

Donkey race
The traditional donkey (tovar) race in Tribunj is set for the first week of August.
Each year 10 000 people visit this event, enjoying traditional food and drink, live music.
